Meet The Team
James Sperinck
Class "A" Head Teaching Professional
PGA of Canada

Introduced to golf at an early age by his father, James quickly developed a love for the game. He spent five consecutive summers attending a junior golf camp, where the instruction and structure of the program laid the foundation for his passion. By age 15, he was analyzing golf swings and soon became a camp counselor and instructor, teaching fundamentals and mechanics while completing high school and university. After earning an undergraduate degree in Sports Management from Brock University, he completed a Postgraduate Degree in Professional Golf Management at Humber College. His PGA of Canada career began at The Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto, before moving to Ottawa to join The Meadows Golf and Country Club. During his five years there, he achieved his Class “A” status in 2009. He later accepted a position at Camelot Golf and Country Club, balancing club duties with winter teaching programs. For the past two years, he's been the Head Teaching Professional at The Meadows, where he has enjoyed tremendous support and success. With decades of experience, he takes pride in helping golfers of all levels improve their game, drawing on a teaching style refined through years of swing analysis, instruction, and a lifelong passion for golf.
Katie Walker
Class "A" Professional
PGA of Canada

With a lifelong passion for competitive sports, Katie spent over ten years as a competitive gymnast, representing Canada in world competitions for power tumbling and trampoline. Her interest in golf began while bartending at the Royal Regina Golf Club, where a gentleman who came in daily encouraged me to give the sport a try. One afternoon, she visited the driving range, and it was then that she discovered her deep love for the game. She completed my Professional Golf Management Business Diploma at Lethbridge Community College to pursue her passion further. Following her graduation, she apprenticed at the Calgary Golf and Country Club, where she passed the playing ability test and began teaching. Over the past 20 years, she’s provided both private and group golf lessons and has been a certified Class “A” Professional since 2015. Her career in golf has taken her across Canada, starting in Calgary before moving to North Bay, where she opened an indoor golf center. She designed, organized, and ran golf programs for ages five and up. In 2008, she relocated to Ottawa and began my role as an assistant professional at the Ottawa Hunt Club, where she established both girls’ and boys’ clubs. For the past decade, she’s been focused on teaching and growing the game, conducting lessons at various golf clubs throughout Ottawa and Gatineau.
